Even IF the LS was purchased in the next year or two prior to 2022 Athletics use would still be required until then. In theory a buyer could be found in the preceding years and redevelopment of the LS could begin. IF they can find a multi-billionaire who wants to take the project on..

The clause was part of the deal signed with the lease which will be obsolete IF the freehold is purchased. IF the 2bobs pay such a large amount for the freehold they will only do so on the stipulation that they are free of all prior caveats imho.
I can see the 2bobs buying it to maximise the clubs value as greed motivates them and their personal wealth, then flipping it soon after as redeveloping it will cost loads with no guarantee to get that money back and they only like minimal risk.

if (IF) they were to find a way of buying the stadium, does that then release then from any sell-on clause to the LDDC or whatever they are called?

Re: Owners want out

They won't ever 'want out'
What they will want, however, is to make as much money as possible spending as little as possible in the process. In fairness to them, that is business.
Regardless of whether they are really supporters or not, they are not interested in ploughing money into the club to make it successful - they are purely interested in maximising income and profit for minimum expenditure. So they are happy to sell half the squad to create funds to supposedly sign a player when they never really had any intention of meeting them asking price. They win both ways - they get a load of lovely money sat in their account from sales, save shed loads of wages and spend nothing but try to make it look like they want to. They're like those cunts on location location location who 'only' have a million to spend but just can't find their dream 4th country cottage in France within a £100 taxi fare from he local prosecco vineyard and think imtheyre so hard done by.
They will sell when they can maximise their profit. So it won't happen before the stadium deal to pay some of it back ends, and even then if they are selling out week in week out with minimum Zoe Souter, they'll just keep ticking over. With the interest they make in the loan alone they're never going to want to get out. They don't actually care about the club at all and they know how to squeeze every penny they can out of owning one without doing anything to make it successful at all because that isn't their aim

The reality is being owners is a massive vanity project for them, especially the midget
They love all the trappings of boardrooms and kudos
I just hope their business model imodes and they have to sell and we never see any of them ever again

In that case its worst than that Ern as I think ive read on here it was a 10 yr agreement from the point of signing it but that it reduced from year 5 but not down to zero.
So thats 2023 and even more time for the arabs to go bust!!!

Ludo its all mapped out. G&S can keep all proceeds post 2021 if I'm not mistaken. Jaguar Landrover amongst other car manufacturers will have all their new production cars running on electric motors from 2019.
We'll get bought by a bunch of Arabs just as the world no longer needs oil, bankruptcy guaranteed it'll be like the Icelandics all over again.
Its the West Ham Way!!!

Unless it's Chelsea or Fulham somewhere else in a very high priced property area, stadiums are worth very little in the grand scheme of things. They cost nearly as much to knock down as they are worth as development land.

Do you think Liverpool FCs valuation is largely determined by a bit of land it owns in L4?

They already own Man City and PSG.'
Yes, mate. As everyone knows, there are only two Qataris in the whole world.

It was widely reported, and not denied by Sullivan, that we turned down a £650m offer from Red Bull last year.
So whatever their asking price is, it's more than £650m so it doesn't surprise me that no one is willing to match it, especially when we don't even own our own fucking stadium

Its quite plausible as being a London club that is attainable rather than the potential asking price for the likes of Chelsea or Arsenal; I suppose Spurs as well.

wasn't there some clause that if they sold within 5 years of moving to the stadium they have to give a percentage of the money over. so expect them here for another 3 years minimum.

I don't know what the details are the rent are but I am pretty sure they didn't sign a 99 year lease where the landlords could put up the rent to whatever they like
